Karma Members and guests celebrated at Karma’s 2011 Holiday Party aboard the beautiful 125ft yacht “Celebration” for an evening around Newport Harbor with great friends, new friends and much holiday cheer.

It was a truly magical evening with fantastic weather, homes and boats decorated in bright lights and the annual Holiday Boat Parade in full swing.  DJ MisterE spun groovy holiday tunes for the evening.  Food and drink were bountiful.

One of the highlights of the evening was Karma President & Founder, Eric Stotz, presenting the 2011 Karma Member of the Year award to Bob Hellman. Bob was recognized for his outstanding participation, dedication to philanthropy and new Member recruitment efforts.

We collected over 50 unwrapped toys for the STAR Education annual toy drive so underprivileged kids can have a wonderful Christmas.

A warm Karma “Thank You” goes to Member Casey Bennett for hosting the evening on his yacht.

WARREN IRWIN – Toronto, Canada – is the President and CIO of Rosseau Asset Management Ltd.  Rosseau is a Toronto-based money management firm that caters to high net worth and institutional investors globally.  Warren has a passion for yachting, off-road motorcycles, exotic cars and outdoor activities on his ranch.  Warren is the lead sponsor for Rally for Kids with Cancer in support of SickKids Foundation.  The event has raised just under $8 million for the foundation over the past 4 years.

MATTHEW HEPLER – San Diego, CA – is the Managing Director for Relational Investors, LLC which is a San Diego-based, Registered Investment Adviser that serves some of the largest pension funds in the world.  Relational currently manages approximately $6 billion.  Matthew enjoys horse racing, skiing, fishing and motorcycles.  Matthew is looking for philanthropic opportunities, meeting new Karma Members, making great friends and having a lot of fun.

JAMES JACKSON – Friendswood, TX – is the CEO & Founder of Texas Neurodiagnostic Associates Inc. which involves the corporate and technical aspects of all forms of neurodiagnostic testing.  James looks forward to enjoying the social as well as the philanthropic opportunities with Karma and our Members.  James has a passion for kayak sportfishing, offshore fishing, sportbikes, gardening, pit BBQ, and snow skiing.  He can catch any fish worth catching in Galveston Bay with a kayak, a paddle and a pole.

KEYVAN RAZI – Irvine, CA – is the President of Stratham Homes, a southern California based home builder and land developer.  Keyvan  holds a law degree from Loyola Law School.  Keyvan is interested in traveling the world, music, current affairs and the Oakland Raiders.  He loves spontaneous fun including anything adrenaline based; skydiving, cliff diving and bungee jumping.  He is also extremely passionate about skiing and surfing because vacations can be tailored around them.

SCOTT SHAGRIN – Los Angeles, CA – is a Senior Vice President with Merrill Lynch.  He shares a common passion for networking and socializing while developing true camaraderie with our fellow Karma Members.  He currently sits on the boards of numerous charities.  Scott has a variety of hobbies and passions that include golf, tennis, scrabble, NBA basketball, soccer, college football, racquetball, gin rummy, traveling and theater.  Scott is also a member of the prestigious El Caballero Country Club.

RUSSELL MATTHEWS – Redondo Beach, CA – is a film producer and the founder of Mor Entertainment.  Russell has a passion for film, skiing, sailing, flying, classic cars, SCUBA diving, and various aviation history or maritime archeology projects.  He is on the board of directors of The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery and has been a member of the Explorers Club for 20 years having carried its flag on expeditions to the Phoenix Islands and the Jaluit Atoll.  Russell wants to experience and accomplish as much as possible in life while leaving the world a better place.

You have probably noticed that we started holding events outside the Los Angeles area.  Recently we have had Socials, Dinners & Meet & Greets in San Diego, New York & Orlando – many more are coming!

As we continue to grow around the United States and the world, you are of course invited to attend any of these events you wish…just RSVP.

Karma Members Alan Atkinson, Todd Miranda & Rafael Cuellar are hosting two Meet & Greets this month in NYC on 1/11/12 & 1/17/12 – details are in the Karma Member Lounge.

On December 21st  we had a Karma Cocktail Reception and Swimwear Fashion Show benefiting the Komen Foundation in Orlando, FL.  This event was hosted by Karma Member Rik Emandi and was the launch of Karma Social events in central Florida.  The evening was much fun, raised awareness and funds for the Komen Foundation and many new candidate members were in attendance.
